READY, SET, LAUNCH!

Blessings!

The moment I have been waiting for has arrived. The official launch of “The Hidden Treasure”, a dream that has finally come to fruition. Although the wait has been long and the process daunting at times, it has also been well worth it. Worth all the “weekend shut-ins”, the term I use to describe the times I would retreat to a quiet place, shut the door and allow Holy Spirit to speak as I listened and wrote. Of course, it was more than weekends, but whatever time was dedicated to writing I looked forward to what was unfolding. From its inception, and even before then, I can honestly say I have faced many storms, overcame resistance and encountered spiritual warfare. But like Jesus told the disciples “Let us go over to the other side” before getting into a boat to encounter a fierce storm in Mark 4:35-41 (NLT), He was saying the same to me. He gave a promise that no matter what challenges I would face as I embarked on this journey, we would go through them together and make it to the other side. As I prayed, I began to prepare “Get Ready” which allowed me to get into position “Get Set” for what was ahead of me. The Launch!

The Journey to seeing the Hidden Treasure come to be began some years ago when I felt an unction to begin writing certain words, phrases, titles and topics that would come to mind, not knowing what I was writing would eventually become a book one day. My passion for writing and reading only served to intensify my desire to spend time meditating on the Word of God. I would begin to write what I believe God was giving me and what He wanted to express to everyone who would one day read “The Hidden Treasure”. He is continually calling us, each one of us by name to draw closer to Him. I have realized many times that He knows how to get our attention.

One day while deep in thought, this phrase “Why Settle for Temporary Pleasures When You Can Have the Eternal Treasure” came to me. So many times, we tend to settle for less than God’s best. Settling for things that have no lasting value and fade after time. But as the foundational scripture for this book reads, “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us” (2 Corinthians 4:3‑7 KJV). There is a precious Eternal Treasure housed in us “earthen vessels” who believe in Jesus. Colossians 1:25-27 Paul says, “I became its servant (talking about the church) by the commission God gave me to fully proclaim to you the word of God, the mystery that was hidden for ages and generations but is now revealed to His saints. To them God has made known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. He is our eternal assurance.

Abundant blessings!
